Everyone has a worldview whether it is formally stated or not. We are formed by the teachers who guide us, the media we consume, and the people with whom we spend our time. Our worldview is how we answer the biggest questions of life and how we choose to interpret events around us.

For Christians, the most essential component of our worldview is that it is based on the truth of God’s Word. A biblical worldview does not exist outside of biblically-based learning. As a Christian educator, this means your job is not only providing a quality education, it is also helping students to build and refine a strong biblical worldview.

Biblical Worldview: The Deficit

Today’s society reveals our deficit of Christian values and thought leadership within mainstream culture. This has never been more evident than in the increasing demand for Christian education.

More than ever before, secular education is failing to meet students’ educational and spiritual needs. From 1980-2020, faith-based colleges have seen an 82% increase in enrollment, compared to the 57% natural average (National Center for Education Statistics data). While college enrollment nationwide has decreased for public universities, many faith-based schools have encountered an uptick in enrollment. According to data from the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU), 30 evangelical colleges experienced notable increases in enrollment in 2024 (per Christianity Today’s article).

People are looking for something different. Where secular culture fails, Christian education steps in and offers a new alternative—one based on truth that is bigger than ourselves.
